My wife is laughing as I read this to her cuz she’s a cat lady and I despise them cuz I love my dogs but I also have a shed and they do come in handy and we are able to get satsumas again cuz the squirrels haven’t eaten as much so I get it
We currently have two cats and three dogs. It has taken a bit of work, but they all live in harmony, and they even play together. At first it took a lot of patience and supervision, but it has been well worth the time and effort.
I have noticed that a puppy and a kitten will automatically accept each other and remain bonded as they grow up.
I ended up with a kitten that was kicked out the litter and my son wanted it but he is still a little wild and I have a spastic dog so the cats were here first but they did pass in the hall without fur flying so a year and a half
Edgar Casey talked about the Spiritual energy of cats. I was recently chosen by a cat from the local feed store, now asleep in my favorite chair, A very loving Bombay Black male.
Cats can have 3 or 4 litters a year and will get out of control, Coyotes are able to bring back the balance as balance is being restored.
Some say the Black death was from giving cats negative/evil attributes and getting rid of them en mass! Rats/mice were the vectors. This is the source for black cats bad rep.
I now know what I want for my next birthday! Be grateful I am not asking for semi-precious gem stones. I really, really like the video I have titled "He's soft".
Excellent article, Jean-Baptiste. I used to dislike cats in my earlier years. If I were within a hundred yards of a cat, it would head straight to me and climb right up my leg--leaving a few claw punctures in its trail. I made a point of avoiding them.
One day, I noticed a hole in the bottom of a dog food bag that was in the garage of our house in the Houston area. There was a large amount of dog food spread out on the floor around the bag. On closer inspection, we discovered we were providing A LOT of food to several rats.
That day, we went and adopted a kitten that had been abandoned in the deluge of Hurricane Ike. We brought him home and prayed he would be a hunter.
Thomas was indeed a hunter! Within a few months, Thomas was delivering his rat catches to us daily. Soon, the neighbors reported that Thomas was hunting in their yards as well. After he finished with our neighborhood, he moved his rat extermination to an adjoining neighborhood. Then he added moles, voles, and bats to his extermination services. Our neighbors were thrilled.
Thomas was an extraordinary hunter.
Every night for ten years, Thomas came through his cat door carrying his "catch" to share with us. In time, he got very creative. Sometimes he left his catch on our pillows; sometimes he delivered it live so we could "play" with it.
These days, we live in the Piney Woods area of East Texas. Thomas has since passed on. However, we have two cats that occasionally bring a mouse home so they and our dogs can chase it around our outdoor veranda. They are exactly like the cats you described--they notice bits of dust floating in the air, or tiny insects on plants.
I have a different viewpoint of cats now. And I love it when they sit on my lap and purr.
Thanks for another thought-provoking article, Jean-Baptiste.
I have always loved & had cats. When I was about 5 years old, my cat had her first litter of kittens on top of me & my bed covers while I slept. I woke up to all of them & was so thrilled! My mom was grossed out. Now we have 5 formerly feral cats who moved in, we got them all fixed, & are one big happy family. 3 are black, 2 are tabby. They love to sleep on us & snuggle. Haven't had a rat or mouse for many years, when before they were all over. Yay cats!!!
Yeh I travelled for 3 years farm sittings and $5000 later on my Mbl home wiring I discovered critters don’t like wd40 …. Keeps your wiring from being eaten 😃
We have 4 cats and 2 German Shepherds. Everyone gets along great! No mice, for sure.
Good balance.
Yeah it’s like cats can see something the rest of us can’t
It is my understanding that cats can see things humans can't. Their eyesight is sharper than ours.
I swear they are seeing something we don’t

Locally the balance is pretty good.
Thanks!
