Spot on. My philosophy too and I've been like it since childhood.

Do not succumb to their relentless tunnel-vision. I've experienced, lived and worked among many different classes and cultures and University smart-arses are among the most stupid people I've met. As Pete Townshend wrote in We Won't Be Fooled Again: "I know that the hypnotised never lie."

Turn your back. Walk away. Ignore them. Do not feed their narcissism and their self-centered careerism.

Yes Sir. I mean, like a "reflex action," as soon as the "trigger words" start, I vanish. At this point it's like the ramblings of madmen. See "The Peter Principle."

It took me about 4 tries to get past that "Republicans want to kill your kids" lady, as my original impression was that "that" is what this substack writer (with whom i am not familiar) is espousing. Maybe you want to embed something like that, with a little introductory prose.

To your point: if colleges taught anything worth a shit, we wouldn't be drowning in crap (like we are). I would be embarrassed to say to anyone "I actually GRADUATED from Frick University!" Good ol Frick U...no thanks, I'll take my chances without a "I am a sheep" skin.

I am utilizing her as an example of what I believe to be manifest mental illness and a disconnect from reality. She is an example of someone fully inculcated into a fairy tale disconnect, as evidenced by her words. The gist being certain words are indicators of the aforementioned illness and when I hear them I politely walk away.

Trust is indifferentiable from trussed in many ears … corny are the carnys & the carnals that swap kernals of kennel kibble back & forth.

Rock-ribbed hope (I much prefer to spell it “hopium”) & slack-jawed irresponsibility (lack of conscientiousness) that someone else - because “its not my responsibility” - is taking / will take care of / it.

Or … if all around me are doing it I can/do/will trust that I can/should/will do it too. Plausible deniability is “my” reality.

Sloth, & the rest of The Seven Deadly Syn•ergies beget Dwarves … & a lot more than just seven of them … Lilliputians & Gulliver is a lot more typical & common than David & Goliath.

“I trust” synonyms “I believe,” “I hope,” “I defer,” “I delegate” … “I’m profligate.” Yep; its just another appetite disorder.

Compare that easy route to oblivious oblivion to “I know” … or “I want to know” … or “I intend to find out” - as much as can: its a process never-ending.

The banality of passive - also often aggressive - voices on pages in books written - & bound (trussed) - by others is where Eichmann in Jerusalem performs & entertains & is scapegoated by the agents & representatives of those unknown, or forgotten, writers-binders.

Sho’ ‘nuff the show ‘bout nuthin’ must go on. Enthusiasm’s pathological appetite is un-Curb-able.

But it is auto-projection, from behind the ayes-eyes. The roles roll out & away from the roles-players who seek first & foremost to satisfy role-playing directors who are just peers in the play; a circle of dehydrated jerkies.

There are only so many types, typecasting is the real life art imitates, & pre-existing-types-pretending preceded Shakespeare, is still here-here!, & isn’t going anywhere/away.
